Baltimore Private School Clubs
Clubs are an integral part of student life on any campus. Students have the opportunity to develop leadership skills, learn a new skill, build responsibility, and engage in teamwork through participation in an extracurricular club.
Drama
It is our belief that we as people are drawn to good stories because we are really seeking God’s story. Ecclesiastes 3:11 says:
He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.
All great stories have borrowed from God’s larger story in search of that eternity.
Through our annual Drama production, we seek not only to develop and highlight our students’ gifts and abilities and present a wonderful production, but also to use the process of a play to press deeper into God’s design and purpose for our lives.
The play is usually scheduled for the second week in March, although auditions are held in December right after the Christmas Concert. The full schedule begins in January and rehearsals take place mostly after school. Every Saturday, 9–12 for the duration of the play, is Tech Time, an opportunity for the cast, crew, and families to work on the sets, make props and costumes etc. The play is open to Middle and High school students and depending on the show, a few 4th or 5th-grade students.

Peacemakers
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.” ~ Matthew 5:9
Followers of Jesus have been called to peace. Not only are we called to have peace but, also, to make it. Peacemaking is a divine work. For peace means reconciliation and God is the author of both. Being a peacemaker is a part of being surrendered to God, for God brings peace. We abandon the desire to get our needs met through hurting those we consider our “enemies.” God comes to us in Christ to make peace with us, and we participate in God’s grace as we go to our “enemies” to make peace.
There are times when we are in need, of our other brothers and sisters in Christ, to help us restore relationships. The Peacemaker program, at Perry Hall Christian School, was developed to help foster relationships, provide leadership opportunities, and allow students to minister to their peers.
Peacemakers are students, chosen by the Guidance Office, that provide conflict resolution through peer mediation. Peacemakers are trained in effective communication skills and conflict resolution strategies using counseling resources and biblical principles. Perry Hall Christian School is able to provide these students with a unique experience due to the expansive age range: K-12. Not only are conflict resolution skills required, but also the discernment of which skills are best suited to each specific developmental level.
Student Council
The student council is made up of 2 class representatives from grades 9-12 and an executive board. They are responsible for planning many activities throughout the year including Homecoming, high school overnighters, middle school games night and Spirit Week. Students that are interested in planning the kinds of events that make school fun and exciting are encouraged to take part in the Student Council.
National Honor Society
The NHS is a nationally recognized organization that admits student members based on their outstanding performance in Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character. Students in 10th through 12th grades are eligible to be nominated. They must have at least a 3.3-grade point average to be eligible. Other requirements are based on information provided by the student, that is reviewed by their parents and the advisor. Students will run several service projects within and outside of the school community throughout the school year.
