Continuous Enrollment
Taking our cue from colleges and other Christian schools nation-wide, Perry Hall Christian School uses Continuous Enrollment, an efficient way for our families to re-enroll from year to year. In fact, there is no need at all to re-enroll. Once your children enroll, they are continuously enrolled until graduation from PHCS or the family follows an opt-out procedure.
To state the process as simply as possible:
- As part of the first-time enrollment process for new students, you will indicate your understanding that your children are continuously enrolled at PHCS until graduation or, if necessary, the opt-out process is followed.
- The April tuition payment each year becomes the Continuous Enrollment down payment for the next school year, which will be deducted from tuition due next year.
- Once enrolled, students are considered part of PHCS until they graduate with no further annual “re-enrollment” process involved.
Continuous Enrollment FAQs
We have created a series of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) to help our families understand how this process works and to anticipate questions you might have. Please read over the various FAQs below to flesh out the details.
Re-enrollment is an annual data collection process that schools use to update enrollment records of the current student body. This information is used as the school makes plans for the following school year. Basically, the simple question is: “Are you coming back to school next year?” For our leadership team at Perry Hall Christian School, we need to know how many students we will have on the first day of school.
PHCS leadership does a lot of planning to ensure that we’re prepared to fulfill our mission excellently every year. Until PHCS families complete their enrollment packet, we can’t make solid plans for staffing, programs, materials, curriculum and facility usage. We take the stewardship of tuition dollars entrusted to us every year very seriously, and we want to invest these tuition dollars wisely in order to provide the best education possible for our students.
Up until this point, re-enrollment has been an opt-in program. We annually ask every family, “Are you coming back?” In a sense, we’ve been burdening the vast majority of families by requiring you to go through this process annually. Last year, for instance, we retained 94% of our student body. So EVERYONE had to go through re-enrollment for the sake of the 6% that, for one reason or another, left our school community. By signing your Continuous Enrollment contract, you will be flipping that script. Rather than an OPT-IN annual re-enrollment process, PHCS’s annual re-enrollment will become an OPT-OUT process. In other words, if you’re coming back after signing your Continuous Enrollment contract, you’ll never have to worry about this again.
Once all of our families are in the Continuous Enrollment Program, the typical re-enrollment season will simply be a communication reminder from the Admissions Office informing the families that might be thinking about leaving our school to notify us prior to the end of January. If last year is any indication, this means that 90+% of PHCS families will have the convenience of ignoring this message and doing absolutely nothing!
The same as it was last year. PHCS families that are re-enrolled, but break the contract by dis-enrolling their students after the specified date will be assessed a withdrawal fee based on the date withdrawn. Refer to the tuition and fee schedule for specific dates and fees.
We’ve built flexibility into this contract. So, for major life changes/unique circumstances like moving 30+ miles away from our school, or another special circumstance that is approved, there will be no financial penalty.
Continuous Enrollment will start in January 2021. Signed contracts are due by January 31, 2021. We look forward to serving PHCS families in this way and making the process even more convenient!
Simplicity. Guaranteed placement.
With increasing enrollment, we are either at or near waitlists in many of our grades. By opting into continuous enrollment, you’ll be locking down that coveted seat for your child until graduation.
The PHCS Admissions Office will send an e-mail with easy step-by-step instructions. Signing the continuous enrollment contract will only take a few minutes. You will have until January 31st to complete the process.
