Mrs. Kowalik is a graduate of Goucher College with a degree in elementary education with certification in special education. She has a Master’s Degree in Education with a focus in School Improvement Leadership and holds an Administrator 1 Certification from The Maryland State Department of Education. Mrs. Kowalik worked as a teacher, intervention specialist and administrator in Baltimore City Public Schools for 15 years and also served as the Gifted and Advanced Learning Specialist there. She has a passion for students with learning differences and exceptionalities and has spent the majority of her career advocating and developing programming for those students and their families. Mrs. Kowalik has also worked closely with Dr. Mariale Hardiman, Vice Dean for the School of Education at The Johns Hopkins University and The Mind, Brain and Teaching Institute studying neuroeducation. Mrs. Kowalik loves to help students take ownership of their education and pursue their gifts and talents through a student-centered learning approach. She is married and has three children who attend PHCS and has a dog named Moose. Mrs. Kowalik has wanted to be in education since she was 5 years old and feels so blessed to be fulfilling that dream!
Mrs. Carraway has been dedicated to Christian education for the past 8 years and has taught 8th, 9th, and 12th grade English and Literature. She earned her Bachelors of Arts in English from The Ohio State University. She strives to create engaging lessons and exciting ways to demonstrate learning while always seeking to point students to Christ. She is excited to join the PCHS community for the 2019-2020 school year.
Mrs. Brennan has wanted to be a teacher for as long as she can remember. She used to line up her dolls and stuffed animals to play school every day, so she is “living my dream!”
Mrs. Brennan has been teaching in private Christian schools for over 30 years. She loves integrating biblical values into the lessons she teaches.
She has been married to her wonderful husband Michael for more than 20 years. He is extremely supportive of her teaching ministry. They have the most adorable dog named Sophie who often stops in for a visit at school.
When Mrs. Brennan is not teaching or spending time with family and friends, she enjoys reading, painting, and crocheting.
Mrs. Kuriny has been teaching at PHCS since 2017. She has over 20-years of experience teaching in public, private, and home school settings. She has always loved the Spanish language and enjoys learning about Hispanic/Latino culture. Mrs. Kuriny has studied in Spain and has spent much time interacting with people in the Latino communities of rural North Carolina and Baltimore City. She views teaching a world language as an opportunity to build relationships and foster empathy in an ever-changing world.
Mrs. Nickodemus has been teaching since 2016. Using creative lessons and problem-solving strategies, she strives to help students gain a confidence in and develop their ability in Mathematics.
She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics from Northern Michigan University, where she also met her husband, Mr. Nickodemus. She enjoys hiking, reading and relaxing with family and friends.
Mrs. Deena Ruff is the Head of School. Mrs. Ruff holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a minor in Bible. She also holds a Master of Arts degree in Education Administration and Supervision.
She has been working in the field of education for over 20 years and is passionate about equipping students to use their God-given talents to share Christ’s love with others (I Peter 4:10).
Outside of school, Mrs. Ruff enjoys running in 5K’s, reading historical fiction, and baking treats for her husband and two sons. She and her family also spend many summer days and nights camping in Lancaster, PA.
Ms. Brebnor (Ms. B) holds a Master’s degree in Education specializing in Teacher Leader in the 21st Century, and a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Social Science concentration in Teacher Education from Ashford University. Ms. B, along with being the school’s dance coach has taught for various Baltimore City public schools from 2004-2013 including Reginald F. Lewis High to Baltimore Talent Development High School. She loves the expression of the arts and through ministry over the last 24years has shared the gift of dance with ages 3+ throughout the USA. When Ms. B is not teaching, exercising, choreographing a dance or putting together an annual concert for her Christian Performing Arts Dance Company, she can be found spending time with her 3 beautiful children, family, laughing a lot, and capturing memories on her camera.
Mrs. Hannelie van Greunen is the instructional aid for the PK4 classes. She loves watching young children grow both academically and in their knowledge of God. She finds it a great joy to see children soaking up new information and demonstrating newfound skills. She is a registered nurse, who majored in nurse education and community health, as well as a qualified midwife. She loves international travel and going on safari. Her favorite times are the times she can spend with her husband, her two girls, and their many pets in her home. Mrs. van Greunen is the PK4 aide.
Mr. Nickodemus has been doing art almost his entire life. He first began teaching it in 2008 to both elementary and upper school and has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of Art and Design at Northern Michigan University.
With a broad background in illustration, graphic design, painting, photography, and 3D modeling both on the computer and with traditional media, he emphasizes foundational training in the elements of design and has a passion for helping students discover their own artistic abilities.
On his philosophy of art, he says: “C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, Francis M. Schaeffer and many other respected Christian scholars looked at humanity’s inherent creativity and attributed it to being made in the image of a creative God. My goal is to help all my students discover and develop the creative spark that exists in each of them, whether they see themselves as an artist or not. I hope they gain an increased appreciation for the creativeness of God and an enrichment of their relationship to Him.”
When Mr. Nickodemus is not doing art, he enjoys reading, writing, martial arts, researching apologetics, altering computer games to suit his own tastes, and spending time with his darling wife and sons.
Mr. Manry earned a Bachelor of Science in Biblical and Theological Studies from Boyce College and will (Lord-willing!) complete his Master of Arts in Theological Studies from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary this winter. He has been married to his super-amazingly-wonderful wife Patty-Lynn for three years, and they’re excited to relocate back to MD this year after having previously lived in Louisville, KY, where he attended Seminary and they both worked as teachers. Prior to that, they served as missionaries in the Middle East, teaching English as a Second Language and sharing the good news of Jesus to Muslims in a low-income “neighborhood” of 3-4 million people. When he’s not at school, Mr. Manry enjoys reading, playing guitar, and losing to his wife at board games.
Miss Cannon’s love for teaching began when she was in high school helping teachers work in their classrooms after school, and through working with the after-care program that was at her school. She quickly knew that she wanted to make the impact that these teachers were having on their students in her own classroom someday. She continued her education at Philadelphia Biblical University (now Cairn University) earning a Bachelor’s in both Elementary Education and Bible. Upon graduating from Cairn, she returned to her alma mater, and began her dream of teaching. She has been teaching there for the last 15 years as an elementary teacher and MS Science teacher. During her time there she also coached soccer and softball, helped with the school plays, and helped lead several mission trips with the high school students. About 4 years ago, Miss Cannon continued her education through Cairn University once again earning her Master’s in Education. Over the last couple of years, she has felt God leading her onto the next chapter in her journey. She joined a team that is planting a church in the Towson area, and has recently relocated to the area. Though she will miss the school that has been home for so long, she is excited to see what God will do as she joins the team at PHCS teaching MS Science this year.
Jesse is the athletic director at PHCS. He has been at PHCS for 9 years. Jesse has more than 15 years of coaching experience coaching baseball, basketball and football. Coach Jesse has two children that attend PHCS, Chase is in 3rd grade and Kaylee is in Kindergarten.
His favorite verse is Philippians 4:13 – “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.”
Ms. Chavis holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education with a concentration in math from Salisbury University. She has 7 years of classroom teaching experience, 3 of which have been at PHCS. Ms. Chavis strives to instill a lifetime love of learning in all her students.
Mrs. Walter earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education and Special Education from Grand Canyon University. She is state certified in each as well as ESL (English as a Second Language). Teaching is a second career for Mrs. Walter previously working in Banking and Finance for many years, as well as ‘stay at home mom’ for a few years. She has experience with all grade levels having taught middle school classroom reading and college English classes. Her love for Special Education began with Infants and Toddlers and Maryland School for the Blind, as well as a local school specializing in Reading at all levels. She loves to encourage students who learn differently.
Mrs. Walter is a graduate of PHCS. She values the Christian principles taught and the friends made and looks forward to sharing Christ love to the students.
Julie Woodie has been a part of Perry Hall Christian School for several years. She has served as a substitute teacher and an Instructional Assistant. Julie and her husband, Chris, have 3 children who have all attended PHCS. Before working here, Julie home-schooled her children for 10 years. She and her family worship at Grace Community Church in Kingsville.
Mrs. Seeberg received her degree in Elementary Education from the University of Maryland College Park. This will be her 9th year teaching in the second grade and her 5th year teaching at P.H.C.S. Mrs. Seeberg home-schooled her two children for most of their elementary and middle school education. Her daughter is a graduate of P.H.C.S. Mrs. Seeberg is constantly looking for ways to connect her students to learning. She loves reading, sitting on the beach, and boating with her husband of 26 years. Her family is actively involved in EPIC Community Church.
Mrs. Oshinnaiye graduated from Houghton College in New York State with a Bachelor’s degree in Education and a concentration in Intercultural Studies in 2004. While at college, she was involved in music ministry and mission trips. Directly after graduation, she moved to Baltimore city to begin her teaching career. She taught for a combined five years in public and private schools in Baltimore, then taught ESOL in Howard County for three more years. She took a few years off from teaching to stay home with her two girls and is excited to be back in the classroom! She loves seeing students learn in a positive, interactive environment.
Mrs. Oshinnaiye is also involved in the children’s ministry at her church in Baltimore city. When she’s not teaching, she loves playing piano, gardening and spending time with her husband and children.
Mrs. Scheihing graduated from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Secondary English Education.
She has been married to her husband Mark for 24-years and they have 5 children. She has been teaching since 1996.
“I have a chaotic life filled with kids’ sporting events and activities, but in my free time, I love to bake and read. My favorite thing about teaching is spending time with the kids and enjoying the laughter they bring to class every day.”
Mrs. Scheihing’s classroom motto is to “Choose Joy” and her goal is to be an example of that to all of her students. She loves to find creative ways to teach her subjects so if you walk by her room it wouldn’t be unusual to see students in groups acting out stories, taking on the voices of characters in a drama, or debating whether a character from a novel made a good decision. Mrs. Scheihing is so thankful to be a part of PHCS!
Mrs. Iman received her Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Towson University. She taught in Baltimore County for 3.5 years before becoming a licensed daycare provider so that she could remain home with her own children. She is so excited to be back in a classroom teaching at Perry Hall Christian School this year.
Mrs. Iman is married to Steve and they have 3 children who all attend PHCS. In her spare time she enjoys walking and watching her kids play sports. She can be found almost every night on a ball field somewhere. She leads praise and worship at her church, directs Vacation Bible School and leads the youth group along with her husband. The theme in Mrs. Iman’s classroom is taken from Matthew 5:16 “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Mrs. Iman wants to teach her students to “Shine for Jesus.”
Mrs. Howard holds a B.A. degree from the University of North Dakota in Psychology and has over 12 years of business and marketing experience in non-profits, large corporations and private businesses. Mrs. Howard has been married for 17 years and has 2 kids that attend PHCS. She is on the worship team at her church and can often be found working on remodeling projects or camping with her family.

Mrs. McCauley holds a B.S. degree from Towson University in Music Education with a credential for K-12 Instrumental and Vocal Music Education and has 17-years of teaching experience.
She worked as an orchestra and general music teacher for Baltimore County Public Schools for 6 years before becoming a stay at home mom to her two energetic sons. She was very involved with curriculum writing, taking students to county and state festivals, and was a guest conductor for the middle school orchestra for the Arlington Air Music Camp in Anne Arundel County.
She has maintained a private studio over the years of various instruments including piano, violin, and flute (to name a few). She has also been an adjudicator for various music festivals in Howard County, MD as well as Maryland All State Band Auditions.
She looks forward to sharing her enthusiasm for music and passion for Christ with the students!

Mrs. Hartman is an alumni of PHCS, Class of 2011. She attended Liberty University and graduated with an A.A. in Early Childhood Education.
This is her 6th year working at PHCS in the preschool department and previously worked as a nanny and an Extended Care Leader. She married to Jeremiah Hartman, Class of 2009 and they have two kids, Grace and James. Mrs. Hartman’s passion is being able to see kids grow and learn emotionally, academically, socially and most important spiritually.
Hello, my name is Lori Werner. I am the health and physical education teacher at PHCS. I am married and have a son named Luke. I have a passion for sports and enjoy working with children. Therefore, I have been coaching various sports for the past 10-years.
For the last four years, I have been coaching the middle school girls soccer team at PHCS. It is my desire to train athletes how to live out their faith and use their God-given athletic ability as a way to lead others to Christ.
Galatians 5:22-23 – But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
Ms. Groves is an alumnus of PHCS, class of 2018. She has returned to the PHCS campus as an instructional aid helping in lower school classes. She loves getting to spend time with the students and helping out the teachers! She holds an associates degree in Business Administration and is going back to school for a degree in Sonography. Ms. Groves is excited that God has her back at PHCS for the 2020-21!
Mr. Seibert has a Master’s in education from Goucher College, a B.A. in music from California State University Fresno, and 20+ additional course credits in Math and Computer Science at CSUF.
After working as a touring and recording artist in the Christian music industry for 5 years, Mark went into the Video Game industry working on many world-wide bestselling titles in his 20 year career as a musician, producer, designer and director in that industry. In 2008 he retired from the Video Game industry and is now in his 12th year of teaching.
I try to bring a unique perspective to my students using as many examples as possible from my experiences in the music and video game industry – both from the artistic side, and the business side.
Megan Remelgado is in her second year teaching 5th grade at PHCS. She graduated from Liberty University in 2018, where she majored in Elementary Education and minored in Studio Art.
Mrs. Kerr is a secondary mathematics teacher. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and a Master of Science Degree in Mathematics Education.
She has 15+ years of experience working in various facets of education, but loves teaching the most.
Mrs. Kerr is married and has three daughters who attend PHCS. When she is not teaching, she can be found listening to music, crafting, or traveling.
Mrs. Eliasson received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology: Counseling, Clinical and Research from Liberty University in 2015. After teaching at PHCS for 2.5 years, she moved to California, where she began working on her Master’s degree in Education and teaching at a Kumon learning center. She is so excited to return back to her roots at PHCS, and to embark on the new adventure of school counseling. Mrs. Eliasson is very passionate about helping her students emotionally, spiritually, and academically. In her free time, she enjoys running, baking, traveling, and spending time with her husband and her rescue dogs from Kuwait, Ginger and Ruby.
Mrs. Moore has been in her current position as an Instructional Aide since the 2017-2018 school year. She loves watching the students grow within the classroom and enjoys seeing smiles on the children’s faces when they learn something new. Mrs. Moore and her husband have 2 children, who both attend PHCS.
Mrs. Corpuz has been married to her husband Rafael for 37 years and they have four children. Mrs. Corpuz has been teaching since 1998. She has taught both middle and high school, but loves teaching sixth grade the most! She loves to see her students learn and spread God’s love as they live up to their class theme, “I ask that we love one another. And this is love: that we walk in obedience to His commands. As you have heard from the beginning, His command is that you walk in love.” 2 John 1:5b-6
She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Sciences with a Concentration in Education from Ashford University. Mrs. Corpuz serves on the executive Boards for the Harford County Literacy Chapter and the State of Maryland Literacy Association. She co-chairs the Young Authors’ State Writing Competition.
Mrs. Corpuz and her husband are passionate about missions and work with the United Pilipino American Group to take medical care into remote and impoverished areas of the Philippines. She is actively involved in children’s ministries at her church and loves spending time with her six grandchildren. When she is not working with God’s kids, she loves to color, read, and play in the dirt.
Mrs. Thrappas received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Biblical Studies from Toccoa Falls College. Sandy also holds an ACSI Bible specialist certificate. When she is not teaching, Sandy loves being with her children and their families. Camping at Christian Camps with her family and friends are one of her favorite vacation destinations.
Sarah Evans is our 4th grade teacher. She is in her 10th year of teaching at Perry Hall Christian School. She graduated from Bridgewater College in Bridgewater, VA with a BA in Liberal Studies and a Concentration in Elementary Education.
She is certified K-6. Mrs. Evans actively helps with the middle/high school drama productions. She is a Disney nut that can always be found either talking about or singing anything Disney. She loves Broadway as well and takes any opportunity to see a show in Baltimore or New York City. Mrs. Evans has wanted to be a teacher since she was in 5th grade and loves seeing the “lightbulb” or “Ah-Ha” moments that occur in the classroom.
Mrs. Watts earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and Special Education from Towson University. This is her first year at P.H.C.S and she is excited to be a part of the Academic Coaching Program. The ACP is a program that helps provide the tools for every learner to be successful and that is something she is passionate about.
Mrs. Watts is married to the pastor of EPIC Community Church in Aberdeen and she brings to school with her each day the youngest of their five children. When she is not teaching or keeping up with five children she enjoys sitting at the beach with her husband and a good book.

Mrs. Grey serves as the Upper School Principal for Perry Hall Christian School. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, and a Master of Education degree in School Counseling. Mrs. Grey has been working in education for 10 years. Most recently she served on a leadership team in BCPS heading up initiatives to evaluate school climate, learning environments, and enhancing student-teacher relationships.
Mrs. Linton received a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Towson State University. She taught middle school her first year then settled into 4th/5th grade for the next 11 years, after 3 years of supporting our teachers she is very excited to be back in the classroom!
Mr. Royce earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Bible and Social Studies education from Baptist Bible College in Clarks Summit P.A. Since then he has worked as an inspector for construction sites, a lifeguard, and taught History on the High School level for three years at a Christian school in New York. He has coached soccer, lead an afterschool ultimate Frisbee club and taught an afterschool drawing class. Mr. Royce loves to play all types of games, he fights against gravity every chance he gets and has been to Paris more times than he can count, which is not very high.
