Years from now many of us will look back on the Spring of 2020 as a time that will never be forgotten. Who would ever have guessed that our normal daily rhythm of life would come to a screeching halt? As parents, some of our first thoughts may have been disbelief, concern, and if we are honest ~ horror! Hold on, this isn’t how this is supposed to go we said to ourselves!
Thankfully, we serve a God who is bigger than all of the chaos surrounding us. In the midst of the uncertainty He has seen fit to give us such an incredible blessing: the gift of time and not just any old time, but more time with our children!
Proverbs 127:3 Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord,
the fruit of the womb a reward.
Read what our parents are saying when asked about the blessing of having more time with their children each day.
“I really enjoy having my boys here period, but it is a plus to have them help each other if needed. In this trying time my boys are a blessing!”
–Clare, parent of 4th, 10th, and 11th grade students.
“With 2 kids in High School, I am reminded often that our time together is precious. It’s been great to sit down and eat dinner together every night! I also think this transition to online learning has been a great way to prepare for challenges ahead in college.”
–Chris, parent of 11th and 12th grade students
“I find it a blessing to be able to stop in the middle of the day and take walks, give a hug or a sweet reward for working hard.”
–Amy, parent of 4th and 7th grade students
May we never forget this incredible gift we have been handed by our good Father who loves us more than we can ever know and gives us exactly what we need even when we don’t know we need it!
